Hello friends,

Lately I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos and Google-ing a lot of nail polish images and websites. My latest attempt at creativity is to try the marbling effect. After trying it thoroughly at least once, I can say it takes some practice. However, the beauty of the marbling effect is that it doesn’t need to be 100% perfect.

To get the marble effect, follow these simple rules:

1) Tape the area around your finger nail so as to make clean-up easier at the end

2) Apply a base coat color on your nails and let it dry (base coat color not necessary, but recommended) (I usually use white)

3) Get a bowl of room temperature water and some toothpicks

4) Choose the colors you want to marble together (contrasting shades work best, i.e. dark purple and light purple…also a sparkle polish to add some glitter and any colors really)

5) Put one drop at a time of each color (creating a target), you can repeat this step before moving on

6) Immediately take a toothpick swirling around the polish to create a design

7) Dunk finger over the part of the design you like best and let it sit for a bit (20 seconds) before removing it and finally…

8) Remove the tape and clean up the sides of your nails (if it needs any cleaning) and apply a top coat to add some shine

…and VOILA!

Here’s what I came up with:

Faye, What a Broad, Lavender

taped fingers, post-marbling

right hand

right hand again

right thumb & hand

left hand

left hand again

left thumb & hand

just the left thumb!

just the right thumb! THE BEST ONE! 🙂

marbling, both hands!

my thumbs!

So that was my 1st true attempt at marbling.

Hopefully I get better as time goes on!

Any questions and comments are welcome!

‘Till next time… 🙂
