Hello friends,

So a few months ago my friend was browsing our local beauty shop and she scored a 50% off deal on the Serena Grand Slam OPI set that contains Grape, Set, Match and Servin’ Up Sparkle. She knew purple was my color so I told her I’d pay her back if she bought it for me, and she did! I was going to use it right away because I love purple and all things sparkly but I decided to wait a little while. Here we are a few months later and I finally use it and what can I say besides, ‘OMG it’s awesome!’

Grape, set, match is a nice royal purple that in the sun shimmer’s with specks of different colors, it’s very interesting/hard to describe. You just have to see for yourself. Servin’ Up Sparkle is a sheer silver sparkly polish with silver dots as well as silver hexagons.

In tennis love means nothing, but when I say I love this set it means everything. I absolutely love it because it has everything that I appreciate: purple and sparkles 🙂

Here is Grape, Set, Match with Servin’ Up Sparkle on top! ENJOY 🙂

Hello again!
You’re probably thinking “back so soon?!” Well I am in fact back sooner than I usually would be, and it’s only because I had done a few manicures while my camera wasn’t functioning properly. As a result I have 2 posts (one right after the other) to share with you!
After I did the purple and sparkles manicure I selected a nail polish at random and I came up with I Vant to be A-Lone Star from OPI. It comes from the OPI Texas collection that has been out for quite sometime now!
It is a nice cloudy blue that at times looks grey that provides full coverage with 3 coats. I did find it to be a bit streaky after 2 coats, but I added a third to smooth it out!
I am a huge fan of the color blue, and especially baby blues and this one definitely hits the spot in terms of awesome blue nail polishes!

Please excuse the messy paint job, I had been extremely tired and sore from 2 different workouts when I decided I needed to relax and paint my nails!

Here is I Vant to Be A-Lone Star by OPI, ENJOY!

Hello and (a belated) Welcome to October!!
As ESPN nicely put it, October is all about the fall season, MLB playoffs, football, pumpkins and more football.
More importantly, October is Breast Cancer Awarness month.
It is the one month where it is acceptable for women and men alike to sport the color pink at sporting events.
Since it is the beginning of the month and it is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I decided to dedicate my manicure to the color pink.
Today marks the first NFL sunday in October and all throughout the NFL today and for the rest of the month you will see NFL personnel wearing pink shoes, armbands, and wiping their sweat away with pink towels.

For my pink manicure I decided to use butter LONDON (again) in Teddy Girl, which is a nice, light pink, Teenage Dream, OPI from Katy Perry’s collection, which is a  glittery pink top coat, and I used OPI Pink Shatter on top of that to add a little pizzazz.

After I used the pink shatter  I wasn’t very pleased with the ‘shattered look’ so I decided to add another coat of Katy Perry’s OPI, Teenage Dream to sparkle it up some more!

I first saw Teddy Girl by butter LONDON on a friend of mine who has a lighter skin tone than mine and it looked good. It was a nice light pink without being to washed out AKA white looking. Since I have darker skin I was afraid it would be too loud since it is a pale pink, but I was pleasantly surprised when it looked the way I imagined a milky pink to be! 🙂

I took pictures of each polish after I applied them onto my nails so there’s quite a few pictures in this post….so bare with me!

I hope you enjoy my Breast Cancer Awareness manicure!

OK WOW, that took forever! 😉 I hope you enjoyed this post!

‘Till next time… 🙂

Hello lovelies,
Katy Perry is playing in San Diego tonight, and I’m going with a former co-worker and good friend of mine! I am so excited for her concert because we are going all out with WIGS, awesome SOCKS, bright COLORS, LOLLIPOPS and of course nail polish!! 🙂

It is only fitting that I decided to use Katy Perry’s OPI colors because really…what other nail polish would you wear at Katy’s concert?!?!

Since there are 4 colors in Katy Perry’s set, (The One that Got Away, Last Friday Night, Not Like the Movies and Teenage Dream) I did my four fingers on each hand with those colors! For my thumbs I used Passion, China Glaze with Pinata-Yada-Yada, Ulta on top!

Teenage Dream and Last Friday Night, being solely glitter-based took about 4-5 coats to get on there good, but the The One that Got Away and Not Like the Movies only need 2-3 coats!

All the colors look awesome!

Hello everybody,

So you all saw my post on “I Like” by Essence, and after a few days I decided to use OPI Black Shatter simply because I hadn’t used it in a while.

I still haven’t mastered the technique (if there even is one) of the shatter nail polish, but after topping “I Like” with Shatter I must say the shatter polish on my left hand is the best Shatter polishing I’ve done to date. The thickness of the polish is perfect (think giraffe print), as opposed to a thinner spread of the polish (think zebra print).

As you will see below, the left hand is how I picture the perfect shatter, and the right hand…it’s OK but it’s not the way I like it to look.

Here is “I Like,” Essence with OPI Black Shatter:

QoTD: What do you add to your manicure to kick your creativity up a notch? Comment with your ideas/tips!

My latest nail polishing consisted of Blue Bombshell by Confetti and Simmer & Shimmer by OPI.

Blue Bombshell is a shiny, royal blue that is very sheer, so I would recommend 3-4 coats. It’s a shiny blue that looks really nice on tan skin, but it would be a nice darker, royal blue on those of you with lighter skin tones.

I loved Blue Bombshell on its own, but to spice up my manicure, I decided to put OPI’s Simmer & Shimmer (from the Burlesque collection) on my ring finger! S&S is a mixture of glitter (mainly blue-based) with no pigment so it works nicely as a sparkling nail topper!

Hello friends,

I decided to color my nails Planks A Lot from the Pirates of the Caribbean OPI collection because I had my dad choose a color (on Father’s Day), and he said purple.

I went with Planks A Lot, which looks like any other lilac in the bottle, but I wanted to give it a chance to be different. Let’s just say that I am 2/2 with the POTC nail polishes I have (previously did Mermaid’s Tears, aqua marine).

Planks A Lot is  more of a violet and it’s a darker purple than most lavenders and it took 3 coats to become opaque.  It is a really beautiful color, let me know if you agree!

I also used Essence’s Nail Art Express Dry Drops and they worked tremendously. I highly recommend them. They work and they are super cheap (I bought them at Ulta).

Here is “Planks A Lot,” OPI from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection!

QotD: If there could be a nail polish collection for any movie/music act/celebrity, what or who would you want to see have one?

In honor of the latest installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, (POTC) I decided to buy two colors from OPI’s POTC collection. I bought a purple one (to be blogged about later) called “Planks a lot” and a sea green one “Mermaid’s Tears,” and that’s what this post is about.

Mermaid’s tears is a nice aqua/sea green color. It kind of reminds me of American Apparel’s The Office (a light/mint green) but it isn’t as white-based or isn’t as bright. It is a nice pastel-y green that is good for the spring or the next season that’s around the corner, SUMMER!

Mermaid’s tears provides full coverage with two coats, but you might want to do three! While it looks really nice on tan skin tones, it would also look nice on lighter skin tones because it would make the sea-green color pop a little bit more. On tan/darker skin tones, like mine, it’s a nice/calm sea-green color!

Here is OPI mermaid’s tears on me:

Until next time… 🙂

This is just a mini-post about OPI’s silver shatter.
I recently saw that my local Ulta Beauty store was selling the silver shatter nail polish by OPI. So naturally, I decided to buy it and I love it. It looks like aluminum foil on your nails, but a lot prettier!
I put it on my thumbs over American Apparel’s Berry.

Please take a look:

‘Till next time… 🙂

So instead of changing my nail color every few days, I’ve decided to let one color stay for at least a week, but for the 2nd part of the week I would add-on OPI’s Shatter. It is a simple way to change-up your manicure without having to hassle with nail polish remover and cotton swabs!

I will most likely post the shatter nails a week or so after a specific color, and I will only do shatter nails on colors that I think they’d look good on/have a contrasting look.

Here is Palm Springs (that light, peachy orange) with Shatter:
