Hey everybody,

So today I am officially a quarter of a century old….that’s 300 months old…that’s 25 years old. Man, IΒ am old!

But in honor of turning 25 I decided to paint my nails red. To me, red is not only a bold and brilliant color, but it is a color that truly represents what a manicure should be. What I mean is, when I think about nail polish and finger nails, red seems to be the standard color. Call me crazy but red nails give me sense of maturity and make me feel mature….not saying I am always mature, because let’s be honest we all have our childish moments! πŸ™‚

Anyways, to celebrate this milestone of turning 25 I chose a red from OPI (I’ll tell you the name in a bit, and you’ll see why). This red is a nice dark looking red, but at times it also looks pretty bright. I used 2 coats, but I could have used 3. The beauty about red nail polish is that it looks good on any skin tones. I was pleasantly pleased with this red from OPI and I’m really happy with the way it turned out!

So the real reason I chose to use this red by OPI. The name is “QUARTER OF A CENT-CHERRY!” Lame, isn’t it? haha I came across Quarter of a Cent-Cherry, OPI at my local drugstore about over 6 months ago. I liked the red, but as soon as I saw the name I was sold. When I bought that nail polish about half a year ago I made a promise to myself that I’d wear that on my 25th birthday (which is the sole purpose of buying that polish).

So here we are, 6 months or so later and it’s finally here, November 23, 2011…my 25th birthday! πŸ™‚

I’m not too sure how to feel about being 25. It’s kind of freaky, it is kind of cool.

I guess I’ll just enjoy whatever comes my way!

Have a wonderful day everybody, and here is “Quarter of a Cent-Cherry,” OPI for your viewing pleasure:

The other day I read a comment on Zoya’s Facebook page that had high praises for Neeka, Zoya. Basically, there hasn’t been a person who doesn’t like Neeka. I am not about to be that person because I, like many others absolutely LOVE it! Neeka is a nice, dark (but not really dark) purple with gold specs in it. It is really an amazing color that looks good on all skin tones. It only takes two coats for full coverage and it’s just awesome, nothing more to say! I decided to use It’s My Year by OPI on as an accent nail (on my ring fingers).

It’s My Year, is from OPI’s Miss Universe collection and it is a gorgeous maroon with gold sparkles. It is very similar to Faye, Zoya except it has a greater emphasis on the maroon than the gold. It’s My Year sparkles and looks amazing in the sun. Too bad it’s only on the 2 ring fingers. I am almost tempted (for my next manicure) to do all of my nails with It’s My Year because it is that amazing!

Without further adieu, here is Neeka, Zoya with It’s My Year, OPI on the ring fingers!

So those of you who know me, know I’ve been waiting for November 6, 2011 for about 7+ months (or however long ago the 2011 NFL schedule was released).

PACKERS & CHARGERS. It isn’t about ‘versus’ because I love both teams equally. Call me crazy, weird or even confused, but I’m 100% sure about my love for both teams. (Again, if you know me, you know the story).

I’m really looking forward to seeing Aaron Rodgers and company play in San Diego, and I’m also really hoping Philip Rivers and company have the “worst day ever” behind them.

I am so excited for this game. I really hope it is a good one!

And of course, in honor of the blueΒ and yellowΒ & the green and yellow, here are my Chargers and Packers nails. I hope youΒ like them!

For my Chargers nails I used Jo, Zoya which is a nice, light, cloudy blue and Bring on the Bling, OPI for the gold (it’s gold sparkles with a combination of pink/green glitter too).

For my Packers nails I used British Racing Green, butter LONDON which is a nice, forest green and also Bring on the Bling, OPI for the gold.

Hello friends,

So a few months ago my friend was browsing our local beauty shop and she scored a 50% off deal on the Serena Grand Slam OPI set that contains Grape, Set, Match and Servin’ Up Sparkle. She knew purple was my color so I told her I’d pay her back if she bought it for me, and she did! I was going to use it right away because I love purple and all things sparkly but I decided to wait a little while. Here we are a few months later and I finally use it and what can I say besides, ‘OMG it’s awesome!’

Grape, set, match is a nice royal purple that in the sun shimmer’s with specks of different colors, it’s very interesting/hard to describe. You just have to see for yourself. Servin’ Up Sparkle is a sheer silver sparkly polish with silver dots as well as silver hexagons.

In tennis love means nothing, but when I say I love this set it means everything. I absolutely love it because it has everything that I appreciate: purple and sparkles πŸ™‚

Here is Grape, Set, Match with Servin’ Up Sparkle on top! ENJOY πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Halloween!
I must say my Halloween nails aren’t my proudest of manicures and I did them in a hurry because I am getting ready to watch my Chargers on Monday Night Football!

I had some creative ideas but since my artistic ability fails at life, tremendously I just did something simple!

I used Petites Mango and on top of that I put Wet ‘n Wild’s 9021Orange as a sparkle top coat. On top of my orange nails I decided to do black shatter. Afterall, what is Halloween if you don’t have black and orange nails?!

Anyways, here’s what they look like. Again, not my best work but whatever! Enjoy it!!

Hey I’m back!

So 4 days after one of my best friends got married, another friend of mine got married too. My little sister from my sorority, Annie got married last night! It was a very beautiful and fun occasion. After having 2 weddings in 4 days, I want to go to some more…they are so much fun!! πŸ™‚

For Annie’s wedding I painted my nails with Princess by Revlon. This color is one of the most amazing frosty, metallic blue nail polishes I have ever seen! It looks blue and silver at the same time and it just looks pretty awesome. There’s no real way of describing it, you’ll just have to see the pictures because they are that awesome! In terms of opacity, it took 2 coats, but if need be you could get by with one. I always like to do two coats just to get rid of any streaks or anything.

There is not much more to say about this color, just see for yourself how AMAZING it is!

‘Till next time… πŸ™‚

Hello, remember me?

So I’ve been extremely busy lately, (not busy enough to do my nails, but just busy enough to not be able to blog about it). Have no fear, I’m back! I attended two weddings in the span of 4 days, so that’s why I’ve been MIA.

The 1st wedding I went to was for one of my best friends and the it was a very beautiful, fall wedding! The colors for the wedding were brown and orange, so naturally I decided to add accessorize with brown by using Mink Muffs by Essie.

Mink Muffs is my favorite brown nail polish to date. It is a nice milk chocolate-brown (think the color of chocolate milk), but also at times it looks mauve/purple. I absolutely LOVE any colors in the brown/mauve/purple/grey family!

Not that I’m fishing for problems, but I have yet to find anything wrong with the Essie nail polishes. They go on smoothly and for Mink Muffs it took two coats for full coverage! I think Mink Muffs looks great on light-tan skin tones….since it is brown you wouldn’t want it to be drowned out if your skin tone is close in color to the polish. However, since Mink Muffs tends to look mauve/purple, I’m sure it would look good on any skin tone!

Here is what it looks like, it’s amazing…I hope you love it! πŸ™‚

Hello lovely people,

So back in September I took advantage of the BOGO butter LONDON promotion that was going on in London. The first butter polish I used was Big Smoke (if you think back to a few posts ago). The next color I decided to wear was Toff. When looking at the bottle Toff looks like a mauve/pink that is a nice neutral color. The thing I loved about how it looks on my nails is that in one light it looks just as it does in the bottle (mauve/pink), but then in another light it has more of a purple/plum undertone. I LOVE IT. Toff went on very smoothly and it took two coats to make it fully opaque. Toff is a color that looks amazing on all skin tones, especially because it has the pink/mauve look at times and also the purple/plum look at other times.

Here is what Toff, butter LONDON looks like:

Hello again!
You’re probably thinking “back so soon?!” Well I am in fact back sooner than I usually would be, and it’s only because I had done a few manicures while my camera wasn’t functioning properly. As a result I have 2 posts (one right after the other) to share with you!
After I did the purple and sparkles manicure I selected a nail polish at random and I came up with I Vant to be A-Lone Star from OPI. It comes from the OPI Texas collection that has been out for quite sometime now!
It is a nice cloudy blue that at times looks grey that provides full coverage with 3 coats. I did find it to be a bit streaky after 2 coats, but I added a third to smooth it out!
I am a huge fan of the color blue, and especially baby blues and this one definitely hits the spot in terms of awesome blue nail polishes!

Please excuse the messy paint job, I had been extremely tired and sore from 2 different workouts when I decided I needed to relax and paint my nails!

Here is I Vant to Be A-Lone Star by OPI, ENJOY!

Hello everybody!
I hope everyone’s doing well! Sorry I’ve been MIA…for some strange reason my camera wasn’tΒ lettingΒ me uploadΒ my pictures fromΒ the camera to my computer, butΒ the issue was resolved, thankfully!
So for my latest post I decided to use Harmonie by Zoya and sparkle it up with Hi-Res by Milani. Harmonie is a nice, bright purple that looks good on any skin tones. It is somewhat sheer, so 2-3 coats would be good to get it fully opaque. Hi-Res by Milani is a holographic purple glitter, there’s no other way to describe in than as purple, glittery awesomeness! πŸ™‚
I put one coat of Hi-Res on top of Harmonie, because that is all you need for it to be sparkly and shimmery in the sun!

Here is what it looks like, ENJOY!
